SKINCARE

I’m a huge believer and advocate of making skincare a higher priority than makeup. If your skin looks and feels whack, your makeup’s gonna look and feel whack. So make sure you have a summer skincare routine down so you’ll feel extra confident when you do apply makeup. Skin first, makeup second - always!

VITAMIN C SERUM - Vitamin C is an ingredient known for its brightening qualities! It helps with dull skin, lightens dark spots and hyperpigmentation, and also helps protect skin cells from damage caused by UV exposure. So yep, you want Vitamin C in your day time skincare routine and my favorite way to incorporate it in mine is through serums! Some of my favorites: Versed’s Stroke of Brilliance Brightening Serum, Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum, and Eight Saints Seeking C Serum.

I apply this right before moisturizer and sunscreen.

SUNSCREEN - This is a no-brainer! The sun is the biggest culprit in signs of aging and skin damage, so we must do our best to protect our skin. My all-time favorite sunscreen is Versed’s Guards Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen. I wrote a whole review about it and you can read it here. PS: I have a discount code you can use on the Versed website! Use CORINTH10 at checkout to get 10% off your first order!

MAKEUP

FACE SELF-TANNER - Yes this is a thing and Vita Liberata’s Beauty Blur Skin Tone Optimiser is genius! It feels just like a CC cream that gives your skin an instant sun-kissed glow and a tan that lasts up to 7 days! This product also blurs imperfections, evens out skin tone, and doesn’t feel sticky or oily. It just makes your skin look naturally glowing from within! Love this!

MATTE FOUNDATION - I live in Miami and it gets really hot here! The last thing I want is for my makeup to look and feel like it’s melting off my face. ICKY! If you live in a place where you experience really hot summers, don’t worry because I found one of the best clean matte foundations out there! Have you tried Bite Beauty’s Changemaker Super Charged Micellar Foundation? Uhm, hello medium to full coverage without feeling heavy! It has this cool mousse-like texture that feels amazing on the skin! It makes skin look smooth and flawless, it dries down matte but has a beautiful skin-like finish. If this foundation didn’t have a strong perfume-y smell, I’d give this foundation a 10/10! What’s your favorite clean matte foundation?

LOOSE SETTING POWDER - I hate feeling sticky during the summer so a must-have for me is a great loose setting powder. This type of powder is amazing for baking and keeping oils and moisture at bay! I have yet to find a good clean loose powder, so the one I’m still using is the RCMA No Color Powder. TIP: Apply your loose setting powder all over your face with a damp sponge!

BEAUTY SPONGE - I am a sponge believer. I can’t do my makeup without one, so if you still don’t have a beauty sponge, take this as a sign to GET ONE! It truly is one of the best makeup tools you can have because of its multi-tasking abilities. I use this to apply foundation, blend out concealer, apply cream blushes and highlighters, set my face with powder and bake! SO SO GOOD! My favorite is the Beautyblender but I just got a sponge from Juno & Co Microfiber Sponge and so far so good! It’s MUCH cheaper than the beautyblender so…. get it!

CREAM BLUSH AND HIGHLIGHTER - I don’t know about you, but cream blushes and highlighters hit different for me. Makeup just looks extra juicy and healthy whenever I use my favorite cream products. It might be a little trickier to apply if you’re not used to working with creams, but once you get the hang of it, I promise you, you’ll be like “powder who?”. I like to use either a fluffy brush or my damp sponge to apply my cream products. My favorite cream products: Kosas Creme Blush & Highlighter Duo in Tropic Equinox, Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in Werk, Lilah B. Divine Duo Lip & Cheek in b. lovely.

SPF MIST - The thing with SPF, you need to re-apply every 2 hours if you want to stay protected all day. I haven’t tested out a bunch of SPF mists but the one that I like is Coola’s Makeup Setting Spray with SPF 30. It doesn’t smell great, and it has a strong alcohol feel, but it does a great job at setting makeup and mattifying the skin.

TINTED LIP OIL - I love NOT wearing lipstick especially in the summer when I know I will be drinking cold drinks and eating ice cream more often, but when I do want a slight color to my lips, I use my Versed Tinted Lip Oils! They help keep my lips hydrated and they make my lips look a little juicier! My favorite shade is Plum. Discount code: CORINTH10 for 10% off your first order.
