How Much Should You Charge Brands?

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION?
I find my inspiration from the people I follow here on Instagram. I make sure I’m only seeing posts from people that provide something of value to me. That could be their personality, their vibe, their lifestyle, their style, their beauty products, their photography, their knowledge or expertise, etc.
HOW DID YOU GAIN SO MANY FOLLOWERS?
Once upon a time, there was this thing called “Suggested Users” list here on Instagram and that helped me get to 20K. Who remembers that? Haha. And then the moment I started giving away free resources: IG Story Filters, free presets, free tips like this SWC series, I started gaining a steady number of followers everyday.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I CHARGE BRANDS?
There truly is no formula to this, and I honestly still ask this question to this day. BUT when I was starting out, I based my pricing on the rates brands offered me. Then I just asked myself if it was too low, then I try to negotiate a higher amount.
Then later, I created a pricing sheet with what deliverables I usually get asked for, and set the highest rate a brand has paid me for said deliverables. Then that kind of becomes my standard base pricing. Also, if you usually get offered a campaign that’s kind of a bundle: ig feed + ig stories + blog post, it helps to find out how much to charge or negotiate by itemizing your rates. For example: IG Feed post ($300) + 3 IG Stories ($50 per frame) + Blog post (500) = $950.
