What Do Influencers Actually Do?

It’s no secret that being a blogger, content creator, an influencer (or whatever you want to call it), is my full-time job and career, and the biggest way I earn money is through brand partnerships. Sponsored posts. Ads.

What Do Influencers Actually Do?
What Do Influencers Actually Do?

I know there’s a stigma surrounding these types of posts and it’s no secret that these posts don’t perform as well as non-sponsored content because “we’re getting paid to share it”. But this is how I make a living, and I want to feel confident and proud whenever I share these posts because I know I always try to do my best at every job or project that I do.

So in the next few weeks, I will be sharing a little bit of what all that looks like for me. Steps I’m doing to make it authentic to myself and to the brand, and how I disclose these partnerships. I really think that by doing this, you as my audience will feel more open whenever you see hashtag ad or hashtag sponsored on your feed, etc.

So, what do influencers actually do?

1. Brainstorming new content EVERY DAY!
2. Learning photography.
3. Learning videography.
4. Learning how to edit photos and videos.
5. Learning SEO.
6. Writing up proposals and sending out these proposals to potential clients.
7. Learning how to respond to emails in a professional manner.
8. Reading contracts.
9. Understanding contracts 😅
10. Reading emails and proposals from brands.
11. Accepting or declining these proposals.
12. Negotiating rates.
13. Understanding deliverables.
14. Brainstorming creative ideas for a campaign and making it authentic to me and the brand.

15. Writing and submitting drafts.
16. Editing drafts, or redoing a whole shoot 🙃
17. Publishing sponsored posts with proper disclaimers and tags.
18. Updating clients when the post/s are published.
19. Sending out invoices.
20. *praying clients pay on time*
21. Creating a responsive website.
22. Making sure this website is paid monthly, along with all the other subscriptions we have just to create content 😅
23. Writing blog posts, especially non-sponsored ones
24. Responding to comments everywhere!
25. AND SO MUCH MORE!
⠀⠀
We sometimes do all of this in one day. 😂 I didn’t even mention the part where we spend time unboxing, testing out products, buying props for shoots, finding locations to shoot at, communicating with brands on what clothes/outfits to order next (this is actually really fun but so time consuming especially for someone like me who can’t decide for their life), going to events, covering events, and etc. IT’S A LOT, and people don’t usually realize how difficult this is until they try to become one themselves.

As we go through this series, I will be as specific as possible on some topics. I already got a few questions on how to start, how to get connected with brands, etc, so I will be sure to touch on those as well! As always, you can comment here or shoot me an email if you have any questions regarding this topic. :)

I hope that you find this helpful!
